B.Sc. in Ship Operations Technology


AMET University has designed the B Sc in Ship Operations Technology program for students who would graduate from the HND-Mechanical Engineering /Marine Engineering Programme. The Year 1 and Year 2 of the BSc in Ship Operations Technology follows the HND Year 1 and Year 2 curriculum. The Year 3 element is a top-up Programme with specialization in the area of ship operations technology, catering to the needs of the marine and mechanical engineers in the HND scheme. Any certified marine engineer or, a Diploma holder in marine engineering could also enroll direct to the Year 3 of the program.

Scope
On completion of the degree programs, candidates can pursue post graduate and higher degrees and progress to PhD research.

Entry Qualifications to Enroll in the B.Sc. programs
1. HND Nautical Science or HND Marine Engineering awarded by SQA or equivalent 
2. Certificate of Competency as a Deck Officer or Marine Engineer awarded by any IMO white list countries.
3. Any recognized Diploma in nautical science or marine engineering
4. Students enrolling into year 1 of the BSc program with similar entry qualification as specified for the HND.
