English Department of AMET helps cadets/students build knowledge of English language and develop the skill of communication.
The overall mission of English Department is to promote the study of English Language by developing all the four language skills and extend the understanding of how English language is intertwined with the various corporate and industrial needs.
To provide the learners the best quality in teaching and learning and ensure the learner reach the target with the spirit of competence.
Objectives
TTo make all the cadets/students of AMET acquire the required communicative competency in English and multi intelligence including cognitive skills and soft skills so as to secure a job of their choice especially in the maritime industry, and survive in a competitive globalised environment.
To encourage the faculty/ research scholars to publish articles in leading journals and present papers in the national and international conferences in ELT and English Literature thereby providing an effective platform for students in the acquisition of the language skills.
To develop confidence, self-motivation, independent thinking and provide an academically exhilarating environment for the students to enjoy social learning.
