Overview :

This Programme refers to the integration of system component interaction, control and optimization of conventional power systems and offshore energy systems. Power systems refer to the branch of engineering which encapsulates generation, transmission and distribution aspects of electrical energy. Offshore energy systems includes design, analysis and modelling of renewable offshore energy sources, such as wind energy, wave energy, thermal energy, tide and ocean current energy and also sun energy. The programme is taught in an innovative, dynamic and challenging environment, through a combination of research-based Programmes, team-based project work and a high degree of interaction with industrial partners and energy supply companies. Companies take an active part in providing project proposals leading to innovative solutions for onshore and off shore energy systems.

Objectives

  • To instill in depth understanding and skill in modeling, simulation and analysis of conventional and offshore energy systems and to provide smart solution to the challenges faced in the power sector

  • To make the graduates proficient with energy policies, responsibilities of ISO,  market models and power management to work effectively in deregulated power industries and Smart Grid Technologies

  • To mould the graduates as expert in the most important and emerging areas in Sustainable Offshore Energy Engineering and competent professional for providing smart solutions to the ever increasing demand of Green Energy.

This Programme includes but not limited to subjects like Modelling, Simulation, Analysis and Optimisation of Conventional and Offshore Energy Systems, Offshore Control Engineering Techniques, Marine Robotics, Ocean Observation Systems, Dynamics of Floating Systems, Deregulated sustainable energy systems, Planning and Reliability of Offshore Energy Systems, Smart Grid Technologies.
