Earn While You Learn Scheme


Under “Earn While you Learn” programme, Meritorious and Economically backward students of the University will be allowed to work in the Library, Computer and other Laboratories during leisure hours. Those students will be paid honorarium on hourly basis.

This opportunity is offered to students during their Education programme in Academy of Maritime Education and Training (AMET)

Basic requirements to apply

  • All the Cadets / Students of AMET University
  • Parents annual income should be less than Rs.1, 25,000/-

Category of Post and Remuneration (as follows)
Laboratory Assistant   20hrs (Rs.  50   /- Per hour)
Technical Assistant    20hrs (Rs.   50 /- Per hour)
Library Assistant       20hrs  (Rs.  50 /- Per hour)

Academy of Maritime Education and Training (AMET) ‘EARN WHILE YOU LEARN SCHEME

Guidelines:

1. Number of Students selection may be decided on the basis of the number of Programmes offered by the University
2. Annual Income of parents of the students to be selected for appointment shall not be more than Rs. 1,25,000/-per annum
3. While making the selection of students, preference shall be given to Differently-abled / less-privileged students and based on Attendance and Academic performance
4. Maximum duration of work per day will be one hour

Nature of work:
Technical Assistant

  • Helping the Faculty to maintain the lab accessories neatly
  • Maintenance of stock registers
  • Data entry operation at different sections of administration
  • To help the traffic duties along with Security Guard              
  •  To teach weaker students

Library Assistant

  • Cataloguing of books and journals
  • Assisting to monitoring the issue register of the
  • Departmental library or University library
  • Arrangement of books and catalogues in the racks in the departmental library or University  library
